Painting with oils or acrylics, depending on the experience of each student, we will explore outdoor and indoor landscapes. The brilliant world of color will be the focus, and will be complemented by attention to value, intensity, paint layering, undertones, texture, and composition. The work is rooted in an exploration and deepening of seeing. This process takes on a contemplative character as the eye and hand travel the shapes, values, lines and color of a given “landscape,” and the focus is less on the end as it is on what each present moment offers to the eye and the heart.
